Cornell Asian Alumni Association
Welcome to the CAAA!

CAAA was founded in 1990 to serve the needs and interests of Asian alumni, Asian students, and the University. It sponsors lectures, career development seminars, networking events, social functions, and undergraduate support activities. It is also involved in admissions and community service. Each year, CAAA awards two Cornell Tradition Fellowships and one Scholarship to Cornell students.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends: It is my honor to serve as your new President. Whether or not you are a formal dues paying member, Cornell Asian Alumni Association's mission is to offer you opportunities to reconnect with each other, with students, and the university.

I am incredibly excited about the new board. Every officer is enthusiastic, energetic, and exudes the talent of a Cornell graduate in his or her professional and personal endeavors. Find out more about them on our new website: http://caaa.alumni.cornell.edu.

In recognition of the fact that there are alumni who feel a particular affinity towards their individual culture, volunteer leaders targeting their cultures can now organize with web site support, 501c3 nonprofit status, university recognition, and more via the CAAA umbrella. Interested alumni leaders should reach out to me (acc14@cornell.edu) or the Director of Minority Alumni Affairs, Renee Alexander (rta3@cornell.edu) to discuss further.

We have developed strong ties to our fellow Alumni Affinity organizations for Black, Latino, and Korean alumni. The university has also recognized the importance of diversity with the creation of a very vibrant MOSAIC series. Having participated in MOSAIC – LA personally, I can enthusiastically encourage attending a MOSAIC near you to feel the Big Red Spirit in all of its colorful glory. For information about the next event, visit: http://www.alumni.cornell.edu/mosaic.

Included within this note is the opportunity to become a member. Immediate benefits include:
  1. Help raise Cornell’s US News and World Report ranking.  Every contribution is tracked the same in this category, whether you give $30 or $30MM!
  2. Get access to discounted events in the future like the CU vs. BU Hockey Game at Madison Square Garden this November or our signature Pan Asian Banquet in February!
  3. Help finance the Cornell education of superstar Asian students through one of four Cornell Asian Alumni Association scholarships and fellowships.
Our officer team embraces the challenge of making membership irresistible and will be working hard for the next two years to give you that value proposition. We hope to see you at the next event!

Cheers,

Anthony Chang '00
President, Cornell Asian Alumni Association
